At Polifarma, we consider the responsible management of the environmental impacts of our operations to be a fundamental element of our sustainability approach. We are committed to improving operational efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting initiatives that reduce our environmental footprint across our manufacturing processes.
Through energy efficiency, resource management, recycling practices, and operational improvement initiatives, we integrate environmentally sustainable practices into our daily operations. As part of our continuous improvement and operational excellence projects, we have achieved approximately TRY 1.4 million in annual energy savings, gained approximately 400 hours of annual operational time savings, and increased production capacity by approximately 3.5 million additional units annually. Process optimization initiatives have also delivered approximately 50 hours of additional annual time savings and an increase of approximately 650,000 boxes in production capacity.
As part of our commitment to the efficient use of natural resources, we continue to enhance our practices in energy management, water efficiency, waste management, and sustainable operations. We view environmental responsibility as an integral part of our corporate culture. In addition, through our employee-driven OPEX Project and Suggestion System, we continue to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
WATER CONSUMPTION
Since water is one of the most vital natural resources in production processes, we attach great importance to managing its usage in a controlled and efficient manner. In this context, we carry out initiatives aimed at preventing unnecessary water consumption in our processes and focus on optimizing resource utilization.
Along with improvement efforts aimed at reducing water consumption, we also prioritize increasing employee awareness. We continue to incorporate practices that contribute to the conservation of natural resources into our processes.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Our fundamental approach to waste management is to reduce waste before it occurs, separate it at the source, and direct recyclable waste to recycling processes. We meticulously monitor necessary processes to ensure that waste generated as a result of our production activities is managed without harming the environment and human health.
While prioritizing the compliant management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with regulations, we carry out initiatives supporting recycling and recovery practices. Simultaneously, we continue our awareness-raising activities to enhance the environmental consciousness of our employees.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT
At Polifarma, energy efficiency is a cornerstone of our sustainability strategy. We regularly monitor energy consumption across our facilities and continuously implement initiatives to improve energy performance and optimize the use of resources.One of our key initiatives is the Fluorescent-to-LED Lighting Conversion Project, which aims to replace conventional lighting systems with high-efficiency LED technology throughout our facilities. This project is designed to reduce energy consumption, optimize resource utilization, and minimize environmental impacts.We remain committed to advancing our energy management practices by improving operational efficiency, promoting the sustainable use of resources, and contributing to a more sustainable future for generations to come.
SOME OF OUR INITIATIVES
Electronic Patient Information Leaflet (e-PIL)
We see digital transformation as an important area of development that enhances the patient experience while supporting our sustainability goals. In line with this approach, as of April 2026, we have initiated the gradual transition to the QR code-based Electronic Patient Information Leaflet (e-PIL) system.Through the e-PIL application, we are transferring the printed patient information leaflets included in medicine packages to a digital platform, enabling patients to access the relevant information quickly and easily by scanning a QR code. This allows updated information to be reflected in the system simultaneously, ensuring access to the most up-to-date content at all times, while digital accessibility features contribute to a more user-friendly experience.This transformation also contributes to the more efficient use of natural resources. By reducing printing, storage, and logistics processes, we aim to save approximately 160 tons of paper and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 600 tons annually. In doing so, we contribute to minimizing our environmental impact while promoting more sustainable resource use.Through the e-PIL system, we are also improving the efficiency of our operational processes and enabling our employees to dedicate more time to higher value-added activities. We continue to advance technology with a focus on human health, accessibility, and sustainability.
Fully Digital Transformation in Job Applications
In line with our responsibility toward the environment, we have implemented another initiative as part of our digital transformation journey. As part of our digitalization vision, we have moved the job application forms previously completed on paper by candidates applying in person at our manufacturing facility to a digital platform.With this transformation, we aim to reduce the number of printed forms used within one year by at least 50%, thereby minimizing paper waste and reducing our carbon footprint. As we take another step toward our paperless office goals, we are not only protecting the environment but also improving the candidate experience through faster and more efficient digital processes, placing sustainability at the heart of our corporate culture.In line with our responsibility to build a sustainable future, we will continue to take environmentally friendly and technology-driven steps.
Protecting Our Resources Through Digitalization
As part of our occupational health and safety processes, we have digitalized our Near-Miss Reporting Forms and introduced a QR code-based reporting system across our production and operational areas. Through this application, our employees can quickly and easily submit reports using their mobile devices.With this digital transformation, we contribute to the conservation of natural resources by reducing paper consumption and minimizing the need for printing and physical archiving. Managing reports digitally also enables processes to be carried out more quickly, efficiently, and with greater traceability.In line with our sustainability goals, we continue to reduce our environmental impact and use our resources more efficiently through digitalization-focused practices.
Reducing Paper Consumption Through Awareness
Under the leadership of our Sustainability Committee, we are implementing initiatives to increase environmental awareness among our employees. As part of these efforts, we have added reminder messages to our email signatures, encouraging employees to consider whether printing is truly necessary. We also regularly display sustainability-focused content on desktop screens to promote the conscious use of resources.
Following the introduction of these initiatives, we achieved a 13% reduction in total print volume compared to the period before implementation and a 3% reduction compared to the same period of the previous year, despite an increase in the number of users.
These results demonstrate that small but consistent steps towards sustainability can have a tangible impact on everyday working habits. By reducing paper consumption, we contribute to the conservation of natural resources while strengthening sustainability awareness among our employees and continuing to reduce our environmental impact.
